As usability increases, Wi-Fi-compatible cell phones are becoming increasingly popular, as well as models that operate on newer, high-speed mobile phone networks.

When Apple’s second-generation iPhone hits the market later this year, it is expected to take advantage of a faster mobile phone network known as “3-G,” which will make DSL-style speeds available to cellphone users. Other mobile devices are also upgrading to these faster networks, and increasingly taking advantage of available Wi-Fi connections.

How will these faster networks change the way we use cellphones?  A lot of current iPhone users report that one of the things they like best about it is the way it also has built-in Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi is considered the temporary fix to slow mobile phone Internet speed. However, Wi-Fi is limited to small range, hot spots.

For playing digital home movies to a mobile phone, high speed networks will significantly improve the experience and will help to make the entire practice of sharing “rich media” memories more mainstream. As this continues to grow, iMemories customers will enjoy and share home movies from any high speed enabled mobile device, with ease. Can’t wait.
